Boxwood 'Marshall's #2'

'Marshall's #2' is a naturally upright form of boxwood with medium-green leaves. It is more dense and has a smaller leaf than 'Marshall's #1.' Marshall varieties were found in Maryland and currently have little information available.

Boxwood 'Sprinter'

This is an improved, fast-growing form of 'Winter Gem'. Its glossy evergreen foliage is attractive year-round, and it has excellent hardiness. This variety's more upright habit makes it great for hedging. Faster growth means it will fill in more quickly than other varieties.  Use it for edging or a low hedge in formal gardens.

Boxwood 'Winter Gem'

‘Winter Gem’ is a round-shaped cultivar that is relatively vigorous. Great plant to fill space quickly. It has very vigorous growth habit that can get rather wiry but it can be controlled with a good pair of hedge shears. It tolerates a wide range of sites and uses. New foliage emerges a lime-green color and transitions to a deep, glossy green. It has a tendency to bronze when exposed to direct winter sun but the bronzing will quickly disappear in spring as temperatures rise and as new growth emerges.

Boxwood 'Wintergreen'

‘Wintergreen’ is a vigorous, winter-hardy cultivar that is ideal when a medium to large foundation plant is desired. It is a great choice when you want to fill a space quickly. It is great for use in medium-sized hedges and is very tolerant of pruning or shearing. If left unpruned, a vigorous plant can become wiry but the plant will respond very well to hedge shears. It has a tendency to bronze when exposed to direct winter sun but the bronzing will quickly disappear as temperatures rise in spring and as new growth emerges.

** There are many cultivars in the nursery industry with the name ‘Wintergreen’. Some are very similar to this one and others are very different. When matching plants, be sure to check plant attributes and projected size before purchasing.

Buckthorn 'Fine Line Improved'

Fine Line rhamnus has been a best-seller for years - and it just got a whole lot better! Introducing Fine Line Improved, a unique update that is lush and full, from tip to toe. This makes it an even better as a space-saving hedge, and gives it even more presence as a specimen. However you like to use this versatile-yet-exotic-looking, Fine Line Improved will do it even better than the original. Like the original, it sets far fewer fruits than weedy buckthorns, and among the fruits that do develop, only a very low percentage are capable of germination.

Burning Bush

Burning Bush 'Fireball'

A must have landscape shrub with green summer foliage turning bright red in the fall. An improved selection of compact burning bush with tighter branching and superior hardiness. Plant among spring and summer flowering shrubs for a jolt of fall color. The slightly more compact habit makes it a better fit in the landscape than other varieties. Best when planted in full sun. If planted in too much shade, it will take longer to achieve the fall color and may lose its leaves before they have a chance to turn.

Butterfly Bush 'Black Knight'

'Black Knight' is a butterfly bush cultivar which features almost black flowers. It is a deciduous shrub with an arching, spreading habit which typically grows 6-8' tall if not cut back in late winter and 4-5' tall if cut back. Features spike-like 4-10" long terminal clusters of very dark purple flowers which bloom from June to September and sometimes to first frost. Flowers are fragrant.
