Join us for our Dahlia Days Class on Saturday, September 10th from 11:00am-12:00pm with award-winning instructor, Wes Bowers!
Wes Bowers is the former president of the Greater Philadelphia Dahlia Society. He is a life-long gardener who received his initial training from his father, a professional gardener for a portion of his career. Wes has been growing dahlias for over a decade. He started with just a few plants but now has 200 dahlias in his garden. One of his focus areas is on using dahlias as a landscaping element in his garden.
Wes has shown his dahlias in a variety of settings, including local shows at Longwood Gardens, the Maryland State Fair, and national shows of the American Dahlia Society. In 2018, he won the award for the best open centered bloom at the American Dahlia Society national show. In 2021, he won the “Princess of the Show” award, one of 6 major awards, at the Greater Philadelphia Dahlia Society show at Longwood Gardens.
Wes will be sharing his dahlia knowledge to help set you up for success with growing your own.
Class is Saturday, September 10th from 11am-12pm and is $20 per person, which includes one potted dahlia to take home.
